Friends again. After being painfully apart from someone you need, imagine finally making full restitution. John 3:16 is probably one of the best known Bible verses in all of Christendom. For years, it struck me that there should be a song about it. One day it came.
The first verse describes God in the context of the hero of our souls. His own life was given for us to have friendship with Him. Then the chorus satisfies my desire that the song would quote the Bible word for word:
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
Friends again, with God.
